What a great day for the young gulls, thought Sammy. It seemed it was just yesterday when he was right here at Niles beach to be taught how to land in a proper manner…The gulls were all in order for the takeoff And the senior superior gulls were at their posts and alert for the flying off and landing and hopefully in some sort of unison. The young gulls thought they had everything down to perfection just as all young male and female gulls got to be when they first began to fly and feel the freedom high in the sky, even if they flew a little zigzag at first ,they were up there and they felt so free and mighty.//Sammy noticed the Regular team of instructors and important gulls were in each corner of the beach : also the flight commander Had set up his position so that each gull would synchronize their landing one by one and that’s where the gulls lost their big “egos’. You see, they knew how to stay up in the air a bit shaky but they had no idea how to land gracefully and smoothly as there should be not a ripple on their landing.. ’ Oh boy ‘Sammy thought remembering the butterflies he had in his tummy when he had to learn to land.. He also recalled that big feeling he had about himself and how the commander gull told him to Settle down as he was not as important as he thought. at that time of his learning.and inexperience/ The excitement and murmurs were growing now as the whistle blew for all students to line up at the right side of the beach/ “Attention all students! this is a very important day for you all . The very act of coming down smoothly and effortlessly and touch the water as you glide in will be a great test of your fortitude not to mention your endurance as this particular task is no easy accomplishment unless there is a willingness to listen and learn. Do not think this will be over on your first attempt but we, the senior staff of gulls feel you will eventually become great gull expert flyers and soar to the ends of the earth. The little rookie gulls guffawed at such a long introduction and many thought to themselves “just get on with it”.. We know, old gull just what to do and wait until we show you….We already know most everything…Hmmm Sammy thought are they in for a surprise.. This could be quite the morning,: full of such bravado these gulls could be here all night.. The rows of gulls were made for takeoff and the head Gull on the far left of the beach gave the signal for he first row to set out across to the dogbar breakwater and travel in at a high speed and land in front of their main teacher, whom had gone over all this in practice yesterday and he only hoped with all his heart they had listened to him well.. The first row of young gulls took off with such pleasure and they started to talk among themselves and laughed at the speech given them.” What do they think ? ? We aren’t babies anymore we know what to do what do they know????Ha,ha,ha.. “
