“Tommy, come here. You’ve got to see this.” The front of the house is blocked from their view. Jimmy spots a couple of gray wolves emerging slowly from a wooded area and creeping toward the front of the house. “Tommy, those wolves are going after the chickens, and it’s all our fault. We have to do something.” “Yeah right. Any ideas, Jimmy?” “Yes, follow me.” “Jimmy, now I know you’re crazy. I’m not facing those wolves. They’re hungry, which makes them mean.” “Then I’ll go it alone .” Down the ladder Jimmy goes with Tommy close behind him. They peek out from behind the barn doors. Jimmy grabs Tommy’s hand and runs to the back of the house. They get on all fours and crawl the length of the right side of the house so as not to be seen by anyone peering from the windows. When they reach the front, they gasp in fright. Mr. Bundt is standing on the front porch, shotgun aimed at the approaching wolves. He stands poised and fearless, ready to defend himself and his chickens.

About the Book
Farm life can be a real drudge. That is the only life that Jimmy and Tommy have ever known. Sometimes you have to create your own excitement, and that’s just what they did. You know what they say, “When the cat’s away, the mice will play.” What do you get when you have two bored boys and an unattended barn? A recipe for disaster. What started to be a harmless game of egg hunting turned out to be a battle of wits between boys and wolves.
About the Author
I have always longed of being a writer. Putting my thoughts and feelings on paper has always come easier to me than verbal. As a graduate from the Institute of Children’s Literature, I feel that now is the time to put my passion to work for me. As a mother of four children (all grown now), I have always felt that good morals should be a strong part of their upbringing, and that is a large part of what my story is based on. I currently reside in Pinellas Park, Florida, with my family. I am a retired housewife and enjoy the game of pool and cooking. Oh, and writing of course. I find that the older I get, the more comfort I seek in my life. More is not always better.
