Still High

THE DEVIL SET THE TRAP AND I RAN INTO IT. Street life, in spite of how attractive it may seem, is a lifestyle that will soon become a very difficult path. Those very individuals who choose its path will, no doubt, be captured and taken hostage without even realizing that they themselves are now prisoners held in confinement to a lifestyle—a lifestyle that starts by trying your first drink, smoking your first cigarette, smoking your first joint, or just doing whatever addictive behavior in which you indulge, with the idea that you are just having fun. Inevitably it will become your lifestyle. I strongly urge you to take time to consider the fact that whatever you are doing, there is someone who is watching you that may be attracted to the things in which you are indulging in. Even though what you are doing may not be healthy or good for them, it is still attractive because it paints the illusion of a good time. It feeds the desire within for wealth, happiness, and success. They are unable to see that it is an illusion painted by the enemy. Known as Fat Ricky, I became an icon in the Nashville community. My lifestyle was one that glamorized the drug culture and made the life of one who supplied those drugs to the dealers—something to be envied. The money, the clothes, the fast life, the women, the cars, the reputation was a lifestyle that the young men surrounding me coveted, and they would go to any lengths to obtain it. In reality, the drug culture is nothing but “death feeding on the dead.” I was the walking dead. It is fair for me to remind those who have been experiencing drug abuse for a little while as well as those who have been doing it for some time that once a person starts getting high and begins to like it (from my experience), it goes to a different phase, and you begin to become faithful in seeking ways to reach a greater high. I myself know because once upon a time, I spent a lot of time getting high, faithfully. Why? Because I loved getting high. I thank God today that he has placed me in one of the strongest positions in my life, which is to pray and be concerned for the individuals that are growing up in my community. The very same individuals that have been captured and taken hostage by this illusion draped in darkness. Illusions that I, myself, have planted within the hearts and minds of young men and women. I was a fool for the enemy. No doubt, it is a very humbling experience. My prayer is that God would enable me to reach others with the same message that they too are qualified to live every moment of every day “still high.” Just as we searched out drugs through others, the same is required here. You must search out someone who is qualified and experienced with this type of high. As you read, please embrace a testimony of one who has been made free by the power and authority of the Word of the living God and that you too can become a partaker of his amazing grace and the great love that he has for you as you embrace a new way of life. I trust that you will allow this book to help you do what you thought you were unable to do. It’s time to give yourself something that works all the time. It’s a Guarantee!!!
