About the Author

Dane Ann Smith-Johnsen, a Florida native, is multifaceted and multitalented. She was once called a Renaissance woman because of her many interests: diverse learning, painting, photography, and writing. Dane’s formal education includes a bachelor of science in the sciences degree and a master’s degree in public administration. However, her thirst for knowledge continued. She has also studied teacher education, fine arts, and writing for her personal edification. Education, family traveling adventures, God, and love for nature are key elements that enrich her life and her poetry. Ingrid Smith-Johnsen, like Dane, is a multitalented individual. Ingrid was born and reared in Oslo, Norway, but lived for three years in the then northernmost city in the world, Hammerfest. Ingrid left Norway the first time at the tender age of fifteen, traveling to fifty-six different countries and photographing wildlife along the way. Ingrid, who settled in the United States at an early age, is an electronic and computer geek and a math whiz who also excels as a photographer and a Photoshop artist. Later in life, after Ingrid and Dane met and married, they began a beautiful adventure exploring life through sensitive hearts and artistic eyes. Soul mates joined by love, intellect, and talents, now expressing through photography and poetry.
