Princess Alese and the Kingdom of Serenity

Once upon a time in the faraway land of Coldville lived a very handsome prince. His twenty-fifth birthday was approaching, and his father, King Jairus, told him that it was time for him to get a wife. The king was going to choose a bride for his son, but the prince’s mother, Queen Lexi, convinced him to allow the prince to find his own bride. The inhabitants of Coldville were very excited about the upcoming marriage of the prince. But the prince was not excited. You see, not only was the weather always cold there, but also the people were sometimes coldhearted toward one another. They would say mean things to and about one another. They never considered how their actions made others feel. Walking throughout the kingdom, the prince would hear all kinds of meanness. “Get out of my way! Don’t you see I’m walking here?” one person would say. Even on the occasion when someone would decide to do something nice, it was also met with coldness. “Why did you bring me this pie? Take it back before I put it in your face!” one neighbor would scream at the other one. “Your suit looks rather old and cheap,” said one man to the other. Children would be just as mean as the adults. “Your shoes are so ugly. Your parents must have run out of money and couldn’t afford nicer shoes like mine?” one child would tease the other.
