About the Book

“I choose . . . to live by choice, not by chance. To make changes, not excuses. To be motivated, not manipulated. To be useful, not used. To excel, not compete. I choose self-esteem, not self-pity. I choose to listen to my inner voice. Not the random opinion of others” (author unknown). I believe that this quote exemplifies who I am. I am a God-fearing woman that has faced many challenges in my life, yet I am encouraged to push forward. I firmly believe in faith, family, and pursing my dreams. I am always hopeful.

About the Author

“I choose . . . to live by choice, not by chance. In 2010, I returned to college after dropping out some twenty years earlier and successfully attained my bachelor of science degree in business management. For the past twenty-three years, I have been employed with State Farm Insurance Company. And currently work as a claims processor in the Duluth, Georgia, office. I am a native of Columbia, South Carolina. A widow and mother of three bright, intelligent, and athletic children: Tesuan, twenty-two; Marcus, sixteen; and William, thirteen. I am the eldest daughter of Apostle Floyd Briggs and Mother Bertie Briggs of Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ Fourth Episcopal District. My motto in life is simple: “Never give up.” To link to my article in Black Enterprise, go to: http://www.blackenterprise.com/2010/08/26/life-after-death-3/
