The first edition of "The Prophet's Dollar" was published in 1971. The amount of financial changes in the Unites States and the world have been staggering since that writing. This book brings to date much of the information contained in the original plus a look at many of the new financial products that have come to the market. It also gives good suggestions as to where to find professional help that was not available until the last couple of decades. The need to update and stay current on financial plans is far more urgent today than it was in 1971, even though those who lived at that time can see the change more than those just stepping into the pulpits today. Understanding monetary problems in the U.S.A. is important today in light of the international monetary exchanges taking place. Congregations are experiencing personal problems of divorce, child rearing, and paying the bills. The fields are white with harvest for those ministers who really feel a need to lead their congregations to a better life spiritually and physically. This book is an excellent beginning for a minister to REALLY understand what the congregation needs in their everyday physical lives to open the door to being lead in the spiritual.

About the Book
After working with ministers and their financial programs for more than forty years, the author feels that there is a great need for this type of material to be read by ministers today. There has been so many financial changes worldwide that, now, much of what is said pertains to all countries. The original book sold three thousand copies at a time when financial matters were not as crucial for ministers and the people they serve as it is today.
About the Author
Allen D. Mitchell was the coauthor of the first edition of The Prophets Dollar. The other author, Dr. Gary M. Gray, is deceased. Writing the book originally inspired Dr. Mitchell to study and work in the financial field. He holds a PhD in business, CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter), and FLMI (Fellow in Life Management Institute). He is past president of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and also past president of Oklahoma State FLMI organization. He has owned firms in insurance, securities, and real estate. He served as president of Skylark Properties and, upon retirement, was executive vice president of Farmers and Ranchers Life. Dr. Mitchell has pastored full time and part-time most of his life. Presently, he is pastor of Glencoe Methodist Protestant Church, Glencoe, Oklahoma.
