A True Story
About the Book
The book is a true story about a cat that was found along the road two days before Thanksgiving with a can stuck on his head. It goes on to tell how Pilgrim was brought home only to meet a rather reserved "Lucy", a Sheltie dog who happens to be the "Princess" of the house. She wants to know who he is and what he is doing at her house. He tells her of his terrible plight of being hungry and cold and how "the Lady" found him . Lucy then tells him the story of the real Pilgrims and how they were hungry and cold when they came to their new home also and their Indian friends helped them. Pilgrim then asks Lucy if they can be friends and she says "I'm sure we can Pilgrim, I'm sure we can." This is a holiday book with reading level for 6yrs. and up. It has a positive lesson also and that is" The smallest kindness is never too small."
