They managed to carry Susan to the living room and gently laid her down on the sofa. The paramedic crew placed a white pillow under her head and covered her face with an oxygen mask. She was unconscious for a long moment but then, shakily, she began to recover and the paramedic removed the oxygen mask. Jimmy was sitting by her side. She looked at Jimmy and asked, "David. Where's David?" "Dad isn't home yet,Mom." "But where did he go? He was here with Lisa. Call his cell phone." "I did before, but he didn't answer it." She touched her head with her right hand to calm the horrifying pain she was feeling. Where is he, she wondered, afraid that something might have happened to him, too. Tears rolled down her cheek.
