“Parcel for you sir…I’ll leave it at the door” said the unseen male voice on the other side of the door. He looked out the peep hole in the door and could see the back of a man descending the steps. He tightened the grip on the knife and undid the five latches on the door; peered outside with the door slightly ajar, and on the floor was a parcel. He scooped up the package, redid the latches, and then inspected the package. “Hey, it’s for me” as the name Anthony Ragnarsson was printed on it. Anthony tore the package and inside was a letter, a cryptic note. “What the…” as Anthony read “Meet me at 3:00pm in the park. It will change your life.” There was no name or signature on the note which left Anthony puzzled. ‘3:00 in the park, right… as if I intend to show up THERE; especially if I don’t know who is going to be there” surmised Anthony. ‘Change my life…the only thing that can change my life is a darn job”. Anthony finished dressing and tidied up his tiny apartment. He needed some things from the corner grocery store, but as he had little money, he decided to pick up some coffee, bread and milk. ‘Sucks to be poor…hope I have enough food stamps to cover ‘em’ Anthony thought. As he left his apartment, he spotted cockroaches clinging to the wall. ‘God I hate this place…vermin swarming everywhere” reflected Anthony.

About the Book

About the Author
The author derives pleasure in getting youths and adults to read. As a child, he always found time to read—mostly fiction—but he also loved to read real-action books such as KonTiki. The author was educated in the computer science field; he studied in the University of Iceland (Tölvuháskóli Íslands) as well at the University of West Florida (UWF). He has published five books with a sixth on the way, all of which are in a series called Forgemasters of the Realm.
