My soul wanted to know the kind of love that surpasses all distances, time, space and differences. And because of that I had to be willing to continuously confront and challenge myself or be shackled into the life of the cynics who could not walk through their hurtful truths in order to explore and to experience what was on the other side of the fog. The varied colored truth of my life did not have to be denied, but it didn't have to be etched rigidly in stone as a somber truth that locked my soul away from flowing freely. There was more truth to learn and experience. There was good truth, the kind that unlocked doors and set the captive free to add living to their life. I had learned the truth of another when he walks away so effortlessly. But I had not learned the truth of the ones who stayed. I learned that every knot is not securely tied and sometimes unravels. But I did not learn there are knots tied so tightly that they never come apart. I had to walk through the truth of betrayal from the trail of broken promises of love, family, and friendships. I needed to learn and experience the truth of those whose promises were only broken when they themselves could not stand upon their promise no matter their efforts, yet they never leave you wondering or hurting with a sense of betrayal wagging its tail in your face.
