From the Gutter to the Pulpit

About the Book

The book tells the brief story of an addict’s life to the point of near death, three times, when he totaled three vehicles and walked away. But that same person is now an ordained elder and has an MHS degree and will soon be celebrating thirty-one years of being clean (Oct. 9, 1989).

About the Author

First of all, I am a recovering person, who was dually dependent upon both alcohol and drugs for over thirty-four odd years. While intoxicated one dark, cold night, I was mugged and struck in the head with an iron pipe. While lying on the cold pavement, I could see my own blood running down into the gutter. I am now, an ordained elder and associate pastor of Miracle Deliverance Prophetic Temple of God Inc. My pastor/overseer is Apostle Dr. Vanessia M. Livingston. I am a retired substance-abuse counselor/social worker II, from New Jersey Training School for Boys, Jamesburg, New Jersey 08831(Oct. 2010). I am also married to a wonderful woman, Elder Margaret Livingston, registered nurse at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly, New Jersey. My present home address is 93 Chestnut Hill Lane, Columbus, New Jersey 08022. This October 2014, I will celebrate twenty-five years clean. I also graduated from Lincoln University of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with a master’s of human services degree (MHS) in 2009, before my retirement.
