About the Author

“Big Papa Shayne” is the appellation boys and girls “everywhere” have attached to missionary Shayne Powell, Sr., from Travelers Rest, South Carolina. From remote Eskimo Villages in Southwestern Alaska over to the islands of the West Indies, all across Canada, and down to the far reaches of Mexico, then home time and again to the intercity of Greenville, SC, Papa has affectionately borne his label. Always spiritually burdened for boys and girls, Papa has established bus routes, distributed Bible courses, held crusades, and gone door to door with the loving message of Jesus Christ. Now in a new attempt to reach yet another generation, he has authored a series of children’s books. Using this genre, he hopes to make even more difference in a worldly society gone Biblically, morally, and philosophically awry.
