About the Author

About the Author and Her New Series Gwen Petreman is a Canadian author who has published nine books to date. She continues to write a balance of informational books that shine the spotlight on the environment and easy-to-read books designed to put a smile on a youngster’s face. Mrs. Chipley’s Chattering Children: Chianna’s Close Call is the first series of ten books about a family of four chipmunks and a mother. These series of books have many primary curriculum connections as Chount loves to count, Chape is crazy about shapes, and Chee is an expert on trees. In all the stories, the reader is drawn into finding a solution to the various predicaments faced by the chipmunks as they venture out on daily explorations of their woodland. The reader will be pleasantly surprised to learn that the chipmunks’ specific passions actually help them solve every sticky situation they encounter.
