About the Book

Trials. One word that John knows all too well. Hate is another. John’s parents had never told him this secret, until now; he is a Descendant of Ishmiel. There is something special about him. He is different. When John’s house and family are attacked, he must save his mother from the Dark-Ones, the hateful enemies of the Descendants of Ishmiel. John must do this while trying to understand what it means to be a Descendant of Ishmiel, and all of the complications that accompany it. And the chances of survival are not in his favour.

About the Author

Josiah is a 12-year-old Canadian-born writer who was born in Montreal, Quebec. He currently attends a French Immersion school in Ontario, Canada, where he works hard to enhance his skills in all areas. He has been memorizing and reciting literature since he was two years old and has been an avid reader ever since he could string letters together. With a vision for the imaginary world Josiah promotes the reading of fantasy literature to all who he meets. Josiah enjoys recreational fishing and camping with his dad, grandfather, uncles and cousins. He also enjoys baseball and many other sporting opportunities. Any board game is enjoyable for Josiah to play, especially Monopoly, which he plays with his other grandfather, sister and two brothers. Josiah enjoys being a member of the school Chess Club. Josiah is writing more books, and has too many ideas to keep up with himself.
