Ji, the little giraffe, unlike his siblings, has a short neck. Being different, they taunt him and make him sad. Ji runs away, but when he learns his siblings are in trouble, his short neck saves the day.

Teresa Anselmo loves giraffes and supports organizations that seek to save giraffes around the world. She wrote and illustrated The Little Giraffe as a high school Japanese project, and then converted it to English to bring the message of the book to a larger audience. Teresa encourages everyone, everywhere to support and protect giraffes in their natural environment, in zoos, or wherever they may be on our planet.
