Mom and AJ finish breakfast. As mom cleans up the kitchen, AJ heads to the bathroom to brush his teeth and straighten up his room. He is very excited thinking about all the things he and Blake will do for the next few days. Blake’s mom and dad are going out of town together without the children. Blake is staying with AJ and his two sisters are staying with their grandparents. Blake didn’t want to spend all his spring break at his grandparents with his sisters. He told AJ that he gets bored because there is no one to play with and his sisters can be annoying sometimes. “It gets pretty boring just playing video games,” Blake had told AJ.

Her background in equity, diversity, and inclusion, is the inspiration behind this series. The series, Adventures in Diversity with AJ, is filled with fun, entertaining and knowledgeable information that children will use to help them better navigate the diversity of their world. Dr. Hymes received her PHD from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She is the proud mother of her son AJ, who is the inspiration behind this series.
