About the Book

On a world known as Guiya, the Elfin kingdom of Valkhara is threatened by a dark, evil force. Deschardon, the deathlord, unleashes his army of Gorg upon the lands to make Mhorshae, the realm of the dead, and Guiya as one world under his rule. His force is led by his five inspirited generals, the Shaynelords and is followed by a dark, menancing cloud that stretches over the conquered lands, signifying the deathlord's rule over them. All hope is placed on one being, who may have the strength and skill to stand against him; prophesied to be exiled from Valkhara, only to return and save it. Known as the Godchilde, this champion trains with the Elfin priests to master the martial art Kayata and to command the empowering life force, called the Kiy. With these skills and the mystic blade, Godspel, she may succeed in destroying Deschardon and bringing peace to Valkhara and Guiya once again.

About the Author

In his teens, D. J. Addley, like many teenagers of the time, enjoyed playing Dungeons & Dragons with his friends, watching “Black Belt Theater” and reading books of the Fantasy and Sci-Fi genres. He later became a student of Taekwondo, earning his third-degree black belt in the art. He came across Jessica Amanda Salmonson’s Tomoe Gozen trilogy, a discovery that left an indelible impression and fueled his passion for storytelling, for he failed to find similar works of fiction to satisfy his interest. Thus, he resolved to write the kind of story he had long hoped to find. The result was a progressive fantasy trilogy that interweaves the rigor of martial arts with dynamic characters who evolve not only in strength but in spirit. It is his hope that his craft honors the genre’s traditions, while pushing its boundaries, all the while inviting readers into an authentic, vibrant world that they will grow to love.
