Unit 1 The Present Simple Tense Khalid Abdullah is in 12th grade at school. It is his final year at school. Khalid is a good student and always does his homework. When he finishes his homework, he goes out and practices football. Khalid plays football in his free time. He loves football. Khalid wants to be a professional football player. He often watches football matches on television, but usually sees them at the stadium. He is the defender in his school team. He isn’t the goal-keeper. He sometimes plays basketball, but not a lot. Khalid never plays cricket. He wants to play for Al Safraa Club. He is with the manager of Al Safraa Club now. The manager’s name is Mr. Issam. ________________________________________________ Mr. Issam: So you want to play football professionally, Khalid? Khalid: Yes, it has always been my dream. Mr. Issam: Do you play football now, Khalid? Khalid: Yes, I play for my school team. Mr. Issam: Are you the goal-keeper? Khalid: No, I’m not the goal-keeper, I am the defender.
