About the Author

During the three years, from my freshmen year through my junior year, that I was a member of the Cambodian Club at Chelsea High School, I had many wonderful experiences of enrichment. One of my favorite aspects that I enjoyed while being apart of the club was the Cambodian New Year Event held in April. To me, it represented the epitome of Khmer culture, because it brought Cambodians and people of other races and ethnic groups, living in the city of Chelsea and elsewhere, together to learn about this great civilization. Fashion shows, traditional dance, classical dance, folk dance, modern dance, food, and spending time with friends made these events most memorable in my mind.
