About the Book

When an irate bull knocked the old cowboy, Hank Hendershott off into a canyon and killed him, he figured that it was pretty much a toss-up as to where his soul would end up: Heaven, or hell. He was wrong. Born again into another world and another age, Hank discovered that he still retained full recall of his life, before. His new life was lived within a world that could have been a parallel to fifth-century Earth, with most of the myths and legends of that era being profoundly manifest. An evil king, wizardly spirits, brutal, hand-to-hand combat, and intelligent dragons were but a few of the realities of this world. Nevertheless, Hank came to love this new place, and known as Aerwyn the Windrider among his people, the Aerfolk, a people who lived by high standards of honor, courage and battle-prowess, he became a legend at an early age. Hank could not know, however, that something was happening back on earth; something unthinkable; a menace so terrible that even the gods find themselves reaching out to mortals for help in stopping it...reaching out to Hank...

About the Author

Mr. Hawkins spent twenty-two years as a member of the United States Navy, served with distinction during the Vietnam era and of course experienced the civic unrest that accompanied those times. During his lifetime he has seen much of the world, gotten to know a great many of its people, and has experienced a diversity of cultures. He has found in the prize ring, attained recognition as a martial artist, and found time to earn a degree in law. Mr. Hawkins now resides in Mobile, Alabama with his first wife of thirty-siz years, Coe, where in addition to his writing, he works in the Shipbuilding industry.
