Journey of Life
The wheel of life keeps turning,
One day up, the next day down.
By not holding on to the good times
We are better able to deal with the bad times.
Taoism
True love never runs smooth; so is the journey of life because we are imperfect beings. Good and bad is found in all of us but in different measures. Our good fortune may be ‘one day up, the next day down,’ to enable us to experience pain and joy including a valuable lesson that the many ups and downs are like passing clouds that are not permanent. However, when we come to understand about the spiritual side in us, our approach in life from thereon will be more balanced as greed, attachments or blind passion are no longer top priorities. We become more conscious that life can be more meaningful when we learn to serve rather than simply living it up. In essence, our existence is all about being open to learning, making mistakes, confronting our fears, learning and a willingness to leap into the unknown.
Our earthly lessons are connected to planetary healing and the purification of our soul. Repaying karmic debts may not be possible in one lifetime but cutting it short is definitely possible as karma is all about correcting past mistakes and not compounding them. Our worst enemy is ourselves and we have to stoop to conquer ourselves. Do not let history repeats itself and this is why employees all over the world are taught that sound judgement is the result of experience. In reality, our existence is a sacred journey for us to understand our duality of being a human and a spiritual entity. On top of that, learn to understand that there is also a wonderful mystical law of nature that the three things we crave most in life – happiness, freedom and peace of mind – can always be attained by giving them to others. It should be clear that the world can only be one when love for all is the ultimate aim for our survival.
It is good to highlight again that we are all authors of our own destiny. Our destiny is written by us, not for us. However, once we are born a memory censor is implanted on our mind and we will be groping in the dark to work out our contract or mission. To make our lessons even tougher, we are given free will which can make or break us depending on our lifestyle.
Is the resurrection of Jesus Christ a myth?
The Bible says Jesus was ‘resurrected’ or rose from the dead on the third day after his ‘death’. This information does not hold well with modern day historians and theologians because Jesus did not come from the clouds and was not a celestial entity. Jesus was a mortal; a living person in flesh and blood with brothers and sisters and his physical body cannot be restored after death without human remains like skull and bones. Christians should be cautious taking the Bible word for word without knowing the truth about early church leaders fond of deceiving the simple-minded multitude of that time. If you believe in karma, it should be understood that no one can reincarnate as his previous physical self with the same brain or memory; otherwise the world would be very chaotic with ‘dead people’ walking again! Many theologians are prepared to challenge the authenticity of the resurrection as stated in the New Testament.
It is without a doubt that Jesus was a great teacher; he was the chosen or anointed messenger of God like many before and after him. The ‘last days of Jesus’ as explained in many gospels is losing credibility and people are questioning the integrity of early church elders whether they fabricated the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus as a cover up. Is it a ploy the Church exalted the status of Jesus from a human to ‘Son of God’ to prevent further speculations on the tomb or remains of Jesus because it cannot be substantiated? Can you blame historians when they say that there are so many discrepancies that ‘most objective New Testament scholars today dismiss the gospel accounts of the conception, birth and lineage of Jesus as a mixture of contrived fictions and demonstrable myths?’ (D. Joyce, 1972 – The Jesus Scroll).
Is the American stimulus package to save giant corporations a good thing?
It is my opinion that the stimulus package is just a spending orgy for everyone to dig in for more despite of poor performance. Those responsible for corporate greed and excesses should not be ‘rewarded’ but punished instead. Sometimes the legal system gives the impression that it caters only for the rich. For example: When a petty thief got caught for stealing a loaf of bread to feed his family because he was broke, more likely than not, he is thrown into jail. But when a senior corporate executive manipulates the stock market, tell lies and bankrupt many investors and causing widespread unemployment for personal gains, he gets away with it because he has friends from ‘higher up.’ If it was in China or in a small country like Singapore, this hotshot would probably be facing the firing squad as a national disgrace because such ‘fast buck mentality’ is a short cut to destabilize the economy.
The Last Say....
It is my belief that the future – or the unknown – is exactly where we are headed. There is no such thing as predestination because without the many mysteries of nature, our world simply cannot survive because of human weaknesses. History has shown us that the various cultures are not honest and wise and incapable of shaping a peaceful world. The greatest moral failure in our world is that we don’t abide by simple ancient wisdom that says: ‘what you do not want to do to yourself, do not do to others.’
