Scared to Hope

It came to her in a dream; it was so mystical yet so real. She was to write a book. God even gave her the name of the book. “Why”, she asked herself. She didn’t know the first thing on how to write a book. She felt puzzled and excited at the same time with the thought of writing a book. It was like the time that she saw a bright white light come down through the ceiling in her bedroom in the middle of the night. It woke her up and then the light went away as quickly as it came. She didn’t know for sure what special meaning the light had until her mom told her that her dying grandma had seen the same light at 1:20 in the morning, just as she had. The next day her grandma passed away, only three weeks after she was diagnosed with cancer. This was one of many visions she had. They were never bad visions, always positive, encouraging ones. The visions were so real that sometimes she would wake up and for a moment wonder if it happened or was it a vision. Then events would unfold, showing her that the visions were real and she could see into the future. She was excited to have these visions as long as they always remained positive ones. The visions could happen at any given moment of the day or night. The visions were powerful and vibrant and left Mandy excited to see what the future would hold and if she could predict personal events in her life. Mandy had always loved Aiden and she knew that he was the love of her life until she met Steven. Mandy had built up such a wall for anyone to get close to her. She knew that Aiden could break down that wall but it didn't look like he was going to allow her into his life for more than just a friendship. Aiden had always loved Mandy but he was scared to risk their friendship in turn for a romantic relationship with her. Steven, however, was willing to lay down his life for Mandy. He knew he would fall in love with her from the moment she walked into his life. Now Mandy was faced with the toughest decision she would ever have to make.
