The Chosen One

Gavin gazed up at the stars, wondering if he would ever find that special woman he was destined to be with. All of his friends were married with at least one son or daughter to make their lives complete. He had dated the hot looking models but he quickly tired of them. His parents were getting older and he really began to wonder if he would ever get married and make them grandparents again. His brother and sister had both gotten married shortly out of college and they each had a child. He had achieved success in the business world and had made quite a name for himself. In the personal department, he felt he had failed. His friends were always trying to set him up with women that they worked with. He was growing tired of everyone feeling sorry for him at the holidays because he was always the “one” who was alone, with no one to go home to. He felt badly as it was, let alone with everyone else feeling sorry for him. He knew that he had to change his life but he just didn’t know how. He lived in a beautiful log home on ten acres of land. He had two dogs and two cats that kept him company after the long days at work that he put in. As much as he enjoyed his success, he wanted to enjoy success by finding the one who shared the same goals, dreams and aspirations. He wanted her to be successful, smart, beautiful, willing to have kids and enjoy the outdoors. He began to wonder if his expectations were too high if that was limiting the number of women in his dating pool. He had such high expectations of himself and it spilled into his personal life. Finding the special one consumed his every thought. He had reached his breaking point and now things had to change.
