Personal Power There are seven primary chakras in the human body. Each is associated with a gland. The sixth chakra is located in the throat; the gland is the thyroid. From this chakra is the power of the spoken word. Charismatic speakers may never have heard the word 'chakra', but they have learned that when they speak in a certain way others listen. Carnival hawkers, clergy, salespeople, and others often use this power of the spoken word to control or manipulate others. Their audience is the rest of us. Some of us are more gullible than others. We tend to believe the salesperson who tells us we must 'buy today' or their sales offer will not be forthcoming. It is as though there is something in us that wants to believe, like the innocent child who takes in everything as though it were the total truth. Then, as we mature, we learn that what was taught was sometimes truth and other times truth that was filtered through the teacher's ego. The personal power which will sustain us through life is our power to maintain good health. The world of medicine seems to know little about the pineal gland ('conical appendage of the brain of all craniate vertebrates that functions primarily as an endocrine gland …') nor the pituitary gland ('a small oval endocrine gland that is attached to the infundibulum of the brain . . and produces various internal secretions directly or indirectly impinging on most basic body functions.') Webster's 11th ed., 941 and 945, respectively. I leave it to the reader to identify the exact functions of these two glands. Fortunately, we have at this time the true function of these two endocrine glands and their importance to the health of our bodies. Archangel Gabriel provided us with this invaluable data so that now we can learn how we ourselves can maintain a good healthy body. First, the importance of the pituitary gland: "It opens and fills your brain with energy, electricity. It awakens in you cells that make you aware, It has a great power, called hormones . . . [that] make you balanced . . . when your hormones are balanced, they awaken something else you have, another wondrous gland within the body!" A medical doctor sat in Gabriel's audience that day, and Gabriel asked him to confirm for us the locations and descriptions of the glands. Then he spoke of the pineal gland: "This is at the base of your skull and it brings the awakening of the pituitary into your spinal column, which is fluid, water. Now, children, tell me … what is the greatest conductor of psychic energy? Water. "So . . . we have thought coming into the brain, going into the pineal gland, traveling down into the spinal column . . . It goes out into nerves. Nerves feed your body. So what have we here? We have feelings. When you accept the truth of your being, which is perfect health, when you let that little light come into you, awaken your brain cells, fill your being with the knowingness of perfect health, then you have healing." I Am Gabriel, Book 2, 9-10 Gabriel then spoke of our need to know his lessons for today and in the days to come. Many times in the twelve years that the great archangel came to teach, he reminded us that he brought nothing new, only what we already know but have forgotten. I suppose, then, that one could say Gabriel taught us refresher courses, to help us recall the wisdom which we were endowed with from the start. We can read books, view films, listen to great speakers. But when we have learned all we can from those sources there still seems to be something we still want to know. We still have questions about the life around us and more profound questions, like 'why are we here?' The time of 'learning' is over. Now is the time for us to be assured that we can know all the answers to all the questions we could ever pose. By direct communication with God we can know the Answer. First we must understand that we are host to God (ACIM T-15III: 5:4). Is this statement different from saying "The Kingdom of God is within you." (Luke 17:21)? Then we must "Be still, and know that I am God." (Ps.46:10) It was in this seminar of his first year of visitations that Gabriel said, "This is the New Age of Spirit and of Truth and of Light! Walk you in the Light! You are the Light!" I Am Gabriel, Book 2, p.11 We all are the Light of God; therefore we all have the Power of God in us. It is our personal power; the power we must become consciously aware of, if we are to use it according to God's Will.
