About the Book

In this book you will read a comprehensive history of wars as far back as the 1500's to present day Iraq. This book not only talks about all wars the United States of America was active in, it includes wars two century's before the US became a nation. Also, besides reading about the twelve wars that the United States troops took part in, the author comprised and has written about other events that are of signicent nature such as the Andersonville Confederate Prison during the Civil War. Throughout the book included in each war, is placed a warrior. The author has chosen a warrior for each of the earlier wars that she felt worthy. The later wars like WW II, Korea, Vietnam and so on, she has included a warrior that she was fortunate enough to interview and tell about their military history.


About the Author

Though Irene J. Dumas was born and raised in Trenton, NJ, Irene has been living in Florida since 2004. She lost her first husband a Marine who served in the Korean War, to cancer in1992 and had originally insisted she would never remarry, though she eventually ended up marrying a former U. S. Navy Seabee in 2012. Irene started writing at age sixty-four after retiring from the Department of Environmental Protection. In her precious books, she had gone out and interviewed about 180 plus military veterans and wrote their stories in three different volumes. With the writing of this book she was able spend more time at home. When she first started writing she would have to go to the liberty to research the events that the veterans told her about, now she has her own reference books with a volume of over three hundred books. Besides writing, Irene also enjoys needle work for a past time, she had made many beautiful items that she sold at craft shows and given as gifts to family and friends. The one thing she misses doing now is roller-skating. She use to skate every week at an adult skating session in Kissimmee Florida, but do to problems with her legs had to give it up two years ago.
