“LETTERS FROM BRAZIL VI" is a return to reporting of the final trips to Brazil from 1988 to 2005. The author recounts research, conferences, book launchings and travel, all in journalistic form. Emphasis is given to the small moments, inspired by the chronicles of Luís Fernando Veríssimo, as well as the major events. It is the small events that may illicit most interest and enthusiasm. 1988. Curran is Professor Emeritus from Arizona State University where he taught from 1968 to 2011. He has now written fifty-eight books, eight in academic circles before retirement, fifty with author publishing since retirement. The books run the gamut from travel, teaching and research in Latin America in Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia and especially Brazil, and to a lesser extent in Portugal and Spain. The most recent series is "The Scamp Odyssey," travels with Keah from 2004 to 2022.
